Welcoming 2019

It's been almost a week into 2019, and here I am writing my first blog post of the year. I've been a little MIA (oops), but I think it was much needed to take a little break from social media, and spend time being in the moment with the people I love. I've never been one for New Year's resolutions, but I love the idea of a fresh start at the beginning of a new year. I've learned a lot from 2018, especially in the last week of the year being home with my friends and family. Through a minor break down (shout out to Sarah for being my rock), I realized a few things that I was missing that truly made me the happiest.

This year I'm going to focus more on me. I'm going to be selfish in a good way. It's time to put myself first in certain situations and do what's going to make me happiest.
New year, better me.
Being home really taught me how I want my 2019 to look. I've honestly focused so much on my relationship and put that first over everything, that I've forgotten the importance of friendships. While your boyfriend can be your best friend (mine definitely is), you absolutely, without a doubt need your girl best friend and other friends too.
I want to prioritize my friendships and not take them for granted. I was so lucky to spend time with friends I haven't seen in awhile back home over break and I forgot how much I loved being with them all. I want to be out dancing until 2am with my best girls, which I did 2 nights in a row, and it made me feel more like myself again. Something about being with your girls, dancing, and just enjoying life is one thing I've really missed doing.
I want to strengthen my relationship. I want to go on more dates and fun adventures with my boyfriend, and just enjoy each other's company. I want to be more active together verses always staying at home, and find a good balance between the two.
I want to take more pictures. I want to enjoy life's best moments and not forget to capture the memories with the people I love. The last couple weeks I really haven't taken any photos or captured anything to share, and I really wish I had. Nothing beats having photos or videos of fun times together, or even fun little photoshoots, and I'm hoping to capture more moments throughout this year.
I want to be more spontaneous. For those of you who know me, you know I'm a planner. I love knowing every little detail of what's going to happen, how it's going to happen, etc. This year I want to say yes more often. I want to go on spontaneous weekend trips and actually live life. One of my favorite moments from 2018 was a spontaneous Palm Springs trip I took with Sarah. That's how I want 2019 to look.
These are just a few things I'm hoping 2019 will bring for me, and I'm going to do my best to make them to happen through the chaos of work and everyday life.
Here's to 2019!
xo,
